Semi-Permanent Make-Up in Liverpool

Lip blush and semi-permanent make-up in Liverpool. Soft, natural definition that fades gently over time.

Overview

What is semi-permanent make-up?

Semi-permanent make-up, also known as cosmetic tattooing or micropigmentation, gently places pigment into the upper layers of the skin using a fine needle. Our signature treatment is lip blush, which adds a soft wash of colour and definition to the lips, enhancing their shape, symmetry and natural tone rather than creating a bold lipstick line.

Unlike a traditional tattoo, the pigment is placed more superficially and fades over time as your skin renews, which is why it is called semi-permanent and is refreshed with a top-up. The result is natural, buildable and low-maintenance.

Because it is a form of skin-colouring, it is a registered activity. Our premises and practitioner are registered with the local authority for semi-permanent skin-colouring, in line with the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1982, so your treatment is carried out to proper hygiene standards.

What we treat

Lip blush can help to:

  • Add soft, natural-looking colour and definition
  • Improve the appearance of shape and symmetry
  • Restore colour to lips that have lost pigment or definition
  • Save time on everyday make-up

Results are subtle and buildable. The colour settles softer and lighter than it first appears, and a top-up is usually part of achieving your final result.

Who it's for

Lip blush suits adults who want a natural enhancement to their lips with realistic expectations about a soft, buildable result.

Suitability is decided at your consultation. As a precaution it is generally not carried out during pregnancy or breastfeeding, and it is not suitable with an active skin infection or broken skin at the area, certain skin conditions, or a tendency to keloid scarring, among others. If you are prone to cold sores, please tell us, as the procedure can trigger an outbreak and your GP or pharmacist can advise on antiviral treatment around your appointment. A patch test may be advised.

Our approach

We start with a consultation to discuss your medical history, the shape you would like and your colour choice. A numbing cream is applied for your comfort, and pigment is built gently to the look you want.

Your lips then heal over roughly one to two weeks, and a top-up appointment refines the colour and shape for an even, lasting result. We will give you full aftercare and are here throughout.

Frequently Asked

Your questions, answered honestly.

It uses tattooing technology to place pigment in the skin, but it is applied more superficially and fades over time, which is why it is called semi-permanent and is refreshed with a top-up.

A numbing cream is used for your comfort, and most people describe the sensation as very tolerable. Everyone is a little different.

Typically around one to three years depending on your skin type and lifestyle, with top-ups to maintain the colour and shape.

Lips heal individually, so a perfecting session refines the colour and shape for an even result. It is a normal part of the process.

Around one to two weeks. The colour looks darker at first and softens as it heals. Avoid picking any flaking, as this can affect the result.

Please tell us at your consultation. Because the procedure can trigger an outbreak, your GP or pharmacist can advise on antiviral treatment to take around your appointment.

This is generally not recommended as a precaution, and we will happily discuss timing with you at your consultation.

Semi-permanent skin-colouring is a registered activity with the local authority, and our premises and practitioner are registered accordingly and work to proper hygiene standards.
