What are skin boosters?
Skin boosters are injectable treatments that improve the quality of your skin, including hydration, elasticity, firmness and glow, rather than adding volume or changing your contours. They are delivered as many small injections spread across an area, where they hydrate the skin and encourage it to produce more of its own collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid, a process often called bio-remodelling.
They work differently to dermal fillers, which add volume and reshape, and to anti-wrinkle injections, which relax muscles. Skin boosters do neither. They simply improve the health and appearance of the skin itself.
It is worth being clear about one thing: skin boosters such as Profhilo, polynucleotides and hyaluronic acid boosters are CE or UKCA marked medical devices, not prescription-only medicines. Your treatment is still carried out by a registered nurse prescriber, whose value here is proper assessment, technique and clinical governance.
What we treat
Skin boosters can help with:
- Skin hydration and a smoother, more radiant look
- Fine lines and mild skin crepiness (softening, not removal)
- Mild loss of firmness and skin quality
- The under-eye area, with certain products, assessed case by case
Results are gradual and build over several weeks, and they are subtle rather than dramatic. The products we may use include Profhilo (a bio-remodelling hyaluronic acid), polynucleotides (bio-stimulators, sometimes described as salmon-DNA based, which use refined DNA fragments), and hyaluronic acid microinjection boosters. Your plan is agreed at consultation.
Who it's for
Skin boosters suit adults who want healthier, better-hydrated skin and understand that results build gradually and need maintenance.
They are not right for everyone. As a precaution we do not treat during pregnancy or breastfeeding, and there are cautions around allergies (including fish allergy for polynucleotides), active skin infections, a tendency to keloid scarring, certain autoimmune conditions and blood-thinning medication, among others. As a conservative position we also do not provide cosmetic injectables to under-18s. Your prescriber confirms your suitability at consultation.
Our approach
We start with a face-to-face consultation and skin assessment, so your treatment is planned around your skin rather than a fixed template. Skin boosters are delivered as many superficial micro-injections using a defined technique, and sessions are usually short.
Because these treatments work by bio-remodelling, we plan them as a considered course with maintenance, and we will only recommend what your skin actually needs.
From first message to final review.
Consultation
A face-to-face consultation to review your health, discuss your goals and confirm a skin booster course is suitable for you.

Your treatment is carried out by a registered professional, with your comfort as the priority.
Aftercare
We give you clear aftercare advice and are here if you have any questions afterwards.
Review
Where relevant, we review your result and help you plan any maintenance sensibly, with no pressure.
Safe hands, and the standards behind them
Your treatment is delivered by a registered nurse prescriber, accountable to the Nursing and Midwifery Council. We believe in transparency about training, insurance and standards, and you can check practitioners on government-recognised registers such as Save Face and the Joint Council for Cosmetic Practitioners. The devices we use are regulated by the MHRA.

Your questions, answered honestly.
An injectable treatment that improves skin hydration and quality, including glow, fine lines and firmness, by hydrating the skin and encouraging it to produce its own collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid. It does not add volume.
Fillers add volume and reshape your features. Skin boosters improve the quality and hydration of the skin itself without changing your contours.
No. Anti-wrinkle injections relax muscles to soften movement lines. Skin boosters do not affect muscles at all.
It depends on the product and your skin. Profhilo is commonly a course of two sessions about four weeks apart, while polynucleotides and hyaluronic acid boosters are often a short course followed by maintenance. Your plan is agreed at consultation.
Results build gradually over roughly four to eight weeks. Profhilo results are commonly described as lasting around six months with maintenance, though this varies between individuals.
Usually minimal. You may have small bumps, redness, tenderness or occasional bruising for a short time, and most people carry on with their day.
No. Skin boosters are CE or UKCA marked medical devices, used by a qualified prescriber after assessment. Botulinum toxin is a prescription medicine, but skin boosters are devices. Your suitability and any risks are discussed at your consultation.
As a precaution we do not treat during pregnancy or breastfeeding, and we do not provide cosmetic injectables to under-18s. Suitability is always confirmed at consultation.
